London Gateway 2008
20 May 2008
London Gateway is the official business conference of BritishAmerican Business. This year, our one-day conference will be held in Central London on 20 May 2008, with the participation of senior transatlantic business leaders, and will afford the opportunity to network, discuss key globalisation issues, and derive useful information on how to manage your company’s objectives to derive maximum benefit from the Second Wave of Globalisation.
The 2008 conference, Globalisation: The Second Wave will feature a series of presentations and discussion sessions led by global business leaders and will focus on the implications of globalisation for transatlantic business companies.
The first wave of globalisation was about the entry of over a billion workers from emerging Asian markets into the global labour force during the 1970s through 1990s. This resulted in major industry restructuring, off shoring, outsourcing, and the emergence of new competitors. It also created rising political tensions. The second wave, beginning more recently, has been about two new forces: the true integration of the world's capital markets and the entry of over a billion new consumers into the world market.
